”Wow”

Wow! The photos and descriptions of this delightful lodge do not do it justice. From the minute you turn into the driveway the lodge looks amazing. Then, you step inside and find everything you could want and more. Beds were super comfy and there were lots of hidden extras around. The bathroom and kitchen were spacious and again had all the extras and modern facilities you could want. We would recommend the lodge to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay whilst enjoying a beautiful area.

“Perfect stay”

Had a perfect stay at Jan's lodge. 4 of us stayed, 1 couple and 2 singles. The place was easy to find, warm on arrival and had all the amenities required to cater for ourselves. Fresh towels were provided and the place was spotless. Other perks was that it had a smart TV, Free WiFi and the shower was just perfect! Would highly recommend if you're due to visit Longleat Safari like we did. Would happily choose to stay here again! Thanks so much.

“What a great find”

What a great find this place is, a short journey from Longleat, lovely and quiet and private with great views. The pictures don’t do the lodge justice, it’s lovely inside and out and we’ll be going back again! Warminster is also a short trip and has everything you need from pubs to takeaways, supermarkets and shops. We would’ve loved to stay another night but we had work. Well done to Jan, lovely touches throughout and especially the treats that were left, thank you!

“Perfect for our needs”

Jan’s chalet was perfect for our needs. Communication prior to our arrival was prompt and clear. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and the chalet itself was perfect for our needs. We made use of the kitchen which was perfect for lunches and evening meals. The beds were all very comfortable and the shower was lovely. Will definitely try to rebook for next year!

“Hidden Gem”

From the moment we booked to the day we left, this was a perfect experience. The cabin is immaculately kept and in an ideal and idyllic location to explore Salisbury and the surrounding areas. Longleat Estate is a short drive and there is a beautiful lake and cafe 15 mins walk from the cabin.

Jan is the perfect host and is on hand as you arrive to show you around the accommodation, which has just about everything you should want for. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

“Great Lodge in a beautiful location”

We stayed at the Lodge in July during the extreme heatwave, with my parents and our young baby. The hosts could not have been more accommodating, making sure we had a fan to keep our baby cool. The lodge was clean and well equipped and in a beautiful rural location, but close to Warminster and Longleat as well. We would not hesitate to recommend to others in the same area.

“Highly recommended”

This place is far bigger than it looks and we were so pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The hosts were amazing, we had flapjacks, wine and milk when we arrived and when we couldn’t get the fire to work they popped over to help straight away. They also noticed I had put up a black out and offered another. They live on site and you can just text them. Our reason for choosing here was to visit Longleat and it was a good location. Lovely and peaceful, we miss sitting at the table looking over the fields! There were lots of nice touches like a Smart TV so we could watch Netflix, some children’s games, patio furniture, etc. We would recommend people bring extra pillows as it’s one per person except for the double bed. It was a really nice stay, the photos do not do this place justice! Would highly recommend to anyone and plan on booking next year

“Idyllic spacious countryside retreat”

Used the Lodge as a base for work in the local area and found everything to be in excellent order. Lots of space, including a generously sized living area with kitchen meant that it was an ideal retreat after long days out. Wifi very good. Comfortable bed. Lovely touches of hospitality from Jan and Andy upon arrival.

"Beautiful Lodge with good amenities in an interesting setting"

The detached lodge is cozy and fully furnished. Spotless, with good beds. Stands on the site of extremely friendly owners who are helpful, but let you go completely free. Nice view from the cottage or from the terrace. Nearby nice pubs with good cuisine, one a few minutes walk away. There is also a lot to see. Beautiful villages (Castle Combe, named for England's most beautiful village, is an hour's drive), interesting historical sites such as Bath, Salisbury and Lacock, Stonehenge and Avebury stone circles and stunning stunning scenery. Recommended!

"Outstanding Lodge"

We stayed for 3 nights mainly for the close vacinity to Longleat (10 min drive). The Lodge is very comfortable with everything you would need for a stay and located perfectly for Longleat or day trips to Bath. Excellent communication from moment booked. Very much looking to staying again.

“The perfect place for a family break”

Everything about our stay at Crockerton Lodge was perfect. The location is ideal for a variety of day trips - we spent the first afternoon exploring the local area, including a walk around the lovely Shearwater Lake, which is just down the road. We then did day trips to Bath & Longleat, both of which are an easy drive away. The lodge itself is fantastic - clean, modern & has all the things you need for a comfortable & hassle-free stay. One of our favourite things was the amount of wildlife you can see from the lodge. We could see sheep & goats and even glimpsed a couple of deer in the nearby field - but best of all were the mini-herd of cows that come and visit right outside the door. The kids gave them all names and they came to see us quite a few times! All in all this is a brilliant place to stay.

“First rate escape to the country”

First rate escape to the country! Great accommodation, spacious and comfortable with all the modern creature comforts. Friendly and helpful hosts who made us feel really welcome. Fantastic location near to lots of attractions, great towns to visit nearby as well such as Bath, Bradford upon Avon and Salisbury. We also had a great meal in the local pub which is only a 2 minute walk. Overall a brilliant holiday and we will definitely return!

“Perfect holiday in a perfect location”

We had a week in the Lodge and we were very comfortable. Lovely location with a beautiful lake within walking distance and a pub! Ideal location for visiting Longleat, Lacock and Stourhead which we did along with Frome and Bradford upon Avon. The owners are lovely friendly people keen to make your stay memorable. We had welcoming flapjacks, a bottle of wine and milk ready for us. We would return again. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

"Crockerton Lodge, What a lovely find"

My wife, daughter, son-in-law & grand daughter stayed at the lodge for a week, the main reason for the visit was to take my grand daughter to Longleat Safari Park, which was great. What was also very enjoyable was the actual stay at the lodge. Very relaxing, peaceful and homely, my grand daughter loved chatting to the cows over the fence, a really great find, big thank you, we'll be going back.

"Highly recommended"

We spent 18 nights at the Lodge during our trip to England from Australia. The Lodge is light, bright, fresh, and spotlessly clean. Feels (and is) very spacious, aided by the high ceilings. Warm and cosy on cold days. Excellent kitchen facilities, spacious bathroom and shower, and great to have a washing / drying machine. It felt like home.

We loved the quiet and peaceful location surrounded by fields. The perfect base for day trips - e.g. north to Avebury and Bath, west to Wells, south to Montacute House. Jan & Andy were perfect hosts - available to provide friendly information and advice when needed, but not intrusive. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

“ Excellent Lodge, beautifully maintained.”

We had a wonderful stay in this superb lodge. Peace and tranquility with lovely views across the valley. Plenty to do roundabout with lots of local walks and places to visit.

“Perfect family retreat”

We had a wonderful week at Crockerton Lodge, Jan and Andrew were extremely friendly and even left some milk and wine in the fridge for our arrival! The lodge is stunning, beautifully laid out and very well equipped. The location is very tranquil, we had a family of cows greet us on our first evening. Shearwater Lake is just a short walk and is a lovely place to visit.

Longleat was also fantastic and just a 10 minute drive. Would also highly recommend visiting Bath, beautiful city. Had such a lovely break, our kids loved it as well. Have already recommended to most of my friends and hopefully we will come back again very soon.

Guests from East Sussex - August 2015

“Stunning place to relax.”

We only had 5 nights at the lodge and brought our 2.5 year old daughter with us as we wanted to take her to Longleat, which was amazing safari park to visit. The lodge is child friendly, open planned and homely, it was nice to go away and not have to worry too much. we went to a couple of local pubs, The Bell Inn and the George for tea which was lovely.

We visited Frome and we took the park and ride into Salisbury which was a good idea as didn't have to worry about parking or how long we were there. Just up the road for the lodge there is Shear Water Lake we had a lovely long walk around it, they do have a cafe there but wasn't open on the Monday. Took our daughter to a few play parks as she loves the slide and claiming frames. Just want to say thank you for a lovely stay and hope to see you again one day.

“Beautiful, spacious lodge, perfectly placed for Longleat and Wiltshire/Somerset”

We stayed for a week in June with a 3-year-old and eight-week-old baby. Jan and Andy are delightful hosts, who live next door and were unfailingly polite and thoughtful. The lodge suited us perfectly: a quiet location but not cut-off: there's a village and gourmet pub round the corner, and Warminster's supermarkets were a few minutes drive away. We were also within walking distance of Shearwater Lake.

The single-storey building is convenient and I'd imagine the lodge rates well for accessibility - just bear in mind the driveway is made of loose stones, but inside is handily open-plan. A particular highlight was dinnertime with the neighbouring cows, who graze on a few nearby fields and usually came right up to the side of the lodge in the early evening - our toddler was delighted!

The lodge has a large bathroom with a separate bath and (electric) shower cubicle, all very easy to operate. There's comfortably enough hot water for a bath a day. The kitchen is well equipped and the fridge has a small icebox. We stayed during a warm spell, but were able to keep the place cool by opening the windows and skylights. Wifi, TV etc all worked fine.

This rental is ideal if you're holidaying with Longleat in mind: I couldn't find anywhere nearer for less than twice the price of Crockerton Lodge, and we were only a few minutes' drive away. I'd probably return if we wanted another 'Longleat holiday’.

Excellent place to stay near Longleat”

We stayed for 4 nights with our daughter and granddaughter aged 9. We were warmly greeted by the owners and found a welcome bottle of wine and milk in the fridge.

The accommodation is first class with everything you need for self catering. Very convenient for Longleat but other places are within easy reach such as Salisbury, Stonehenge and Stourhead. We would definitely recommend the lodge to family and friends wishing to stay in the area.

Alison - August 2014

“Absolutely Perfect”

The lodge is huge, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and with a cosy home from home feel. I didn't want to leave. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and very friendly and helpful hosts Jan and Andy. I would recommend this wonderful accommodation in beautiful countryside and can't wait to come back.

“Wonderful place to stay”

Crockerton Lodge is placed near by many attractions like Castles or lovely villages. After a day of travelling and visiting we have been happy to come back home and to recover in the lodge. The lodge is very well equipped, also for 4 persons. We felt like home during our stay with all the comfort.

The owners are living near by and have been very helpful, but not intrusively. They gave good tips what is worth to visit or if there would be special attractions near by. For every body they had an idea. There is nothing I can say what was not ok, it was simply perfect.

“Perfect Holiday Break, could not have been better, Highly recommend”

Crockerton Lodge is a beautiful place to stay ideal for a small family with it's two bedrooms. It is beautifully decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. We booked a three day break, wanting to get away for a few days and relax with our two year old daughter & this is exactly what we did.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival by the owners of the property & also found a complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge and a box of flapjacks which was a lovely bonus! The owners were always near by if we needed anything & also offered us the option to stay later on our departure day as we had to take our car to a near by garage before leaving. This was really helpful. There was a DVD player and DVDs also provided and local visitor information which was useful for planning days out.

The Lodge is situated in a quiet village with a wonderful pub within walking distance & Longleat Safari Park is also very close by if you are planning to visit there. Our daughter Loved seeing the cows every day grazing in the field right next door to the lodge & we also spotted wild deer in the nearby forest. There is also a beautiful lake a short car journey away.
We could not have enjoyed our stay any more than we did & we would love to come back to Crockerton Lodge for another break in the future. We have recommended this accommodation to friends & relatives looking for a peaceful get away break.

"Lovely place to stay”

We stayed for a long weekend whilst visiting the area and going to longleat. Lovely accommodation, everything you need. Welcoming hosts. Near Shearwater Lake which is worth a visit. Also The Walnut Tree Inn public house in mere is about a 20 minute drive but serves lovely food, but worth booking as gets busy.

Guests from Bury St Edmonds - May 2014

“Extremely comfortable, immaculate and great location.”

We stayed at Crockerton Lodge for 3 nights with our children, aged 4 and 7, in order to spend two full days at Longleat. The Lodge is really beautifully presented and equipped and we had a very comfortable stay. Everything was new and modern which was lovely but the lodge also has plenty of character with its beams.

The lodge is very close to Longleat which suited us perfectly. There is a patio area good for evening drinks but otherwise we went on a short stroll to a nearby country park to let off steam with the kids. The owners were lovely: helpful yet not at all intrusive. We would definitely recommend this holiday cottage.

“Fantastic place to stay.”

We stayed at Crockerton Lodge for 3 nights in April. The accommodation was fantastic, with everything you could possibly need and more. We were so pleased to have found such a lovely place to stay while we were visiting Longleat. A short walk down the road from the property is Shearwater Lake, which is well worth a visit too. The owners were very welcoming and helpfully offered advice about the area. The property was immaculate and very comfortable, it suited Grandma, our 3 year old son and us.
